The Wax Melt 101
So let me tell you a little bit about wax melts. I get a lot of questions about how to use wax melts, how long wax melts last, what wax melts are made of so I thought I would cover all these questions in this wonderful blog.
So let's start with what they are made of. My wax melts are made with the highest standard of wax, imported by my supplier from Australia. It is made up from soy wax and a small amount of food grade paraffin. There are so many negative opinions based around paraffin wax, in candles it can sometime leave a black smoke but in wax melts it is never in direct contact with the flame so perfectly safe.
In regards to how long wax melts last, it depends entirely on the strength of the fragrance. One of our snap bars would last a minimum of 24 hours. Use 2 pieces per burn and burn for minimum of 8 hours (2 4 hour tea lights) the stronger fragrances will last longer so just change when the scent has gone!
That works out at 24 hours of fragrance for £1.75!!
To clean your burner to change the wax we recommend the 2 following ways.
- Light your burner as normal and about 5-10 seconds into the burn press on your hard wax and it should pop out of the burner.
- If the above method doesn't work then let the wax melt completely. Blow out your tea light and with extreme caution (wax and burner will be hot) use some cotton wool/kitchen roll and mop up the liquid wax.
If you are washing your wax burner then please ensure it is completely dry before the next use.
